• The Engine: This 1997 5.9 liter 12 valve Cummins Turbo Diesel engine features the highly sought after Bosch P7100 (P-Pump) inline mechanical fuel injection pump (with stock 215 Horse Power) which owners praise for its immense reliability and massive tuning potential for much higher horsepower output.

• The Holset HX35 Turbo found on ’94-’98 12-valve Cummins engines is one of the toughest factory turbochargers. Even though it was designed to see 20 psi of boost in the 5.9L Cummins’ application, this one makes 35 to 40 psi courtesy of a disabled wastegate. The HX35 not only yields more power, but lower exhaust gas temperature (EGT) as well. 

• 1997 and earlier models do not require any smog testing in California.
